United Way | Success by 6 | Passport into Fatherhood Event

Liddle Kidz™ Foundation, will present a special Teachable Moments booth at the upcoming United Way | Success by 6 “Passport into Fatherhood” event on May 31, 2008 at Wilmington Park Elementary School.

“Passport into Fatherhood” is a special free event for fathers and their families living in Southern California. Hundreds of families are expected to attend and experience a wide variety of activities and educational booths to enhance their family growth.

Fathers that attend the event with their families will experience:

15 Teachable Moments booths that include hands on activities to touch on the following topics

• Social & Emotional Development
• Physical Development
• Language & Literacy
• Mathematical Thinking
• The Arts
• Baby and Infant Corner

In the Baby and Infant Corner is where you’ll find the Liddle Kidz Foundation. Our bilingual volunteers will provide hands-on lessons in infant massage and baby soothing techniques in both English and Spanish.  Every parent who visits our booth will receive free lessons, and take home items such as, infant massage oil and printed resources, which will help them to practice infant massage in the comfort of their own homes.

Outreach Booths

• Information for fathers on resources in the community
• The Wilmington Middle School and Banning High School Drop Out Prevention Units will also be present to offer statistics and resources to help children get back in school.

Guest Speakers

• Homeboy Industries will speak to fathers about crime in the community and coming together to make the community stronger.
• Michael Salsido from Child Security Network will review the ABC’s of child safety and being more involved your child’s life.

Live entertainment

• Puppet show
• Musician

Vehicle Cluster
 

• Vintage cars will be on display to provide another outlet for fathers to share in the experience with their children
• Emergency vehicles will be on display for families to enjoy
