The Certified Infant Massage Teacher Course (CIMT) is coming to Seattle, Washington. This 3-day professional training, taught by Master Teacher Tina Allen, will be held at New Seattle Massage, located in the beautiful downtown area of Seattle.
New Seattle Massage is a different type of massage group – they are a co-op. Their business structure is unusual and worth explaining. Every massage practitioner at New Seattle Massage is self-employed and has joined together to pool their resources as a cooperative. They are the largest cooperatively owned massage practice in the nation.
Their goal is to offer quality massage for stress management, injury recovery, and health maintenance. When you receive a massage at New Seattle Massage, the massage practitioner directly receives the money paid and contributes a portion of the price to the co-op for shared costs such as laundry, receptionists, facility rent & upkeep, administration and advertising. There is no other owner, other than each therapist owning their own individual practices: no other individuals or stockholders gain profits from the work done by LMP's.
Seattle is anything but ordinary. Located between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, nicknamed the Emerald City, Queen City and Jet City, it's a fantastic place where bike messengers share elevators with world-renowned researchers. And fishermen have lunch alongside top surgeons. It's a city where the extraordinary is commonplace and commonplace is anything but. If you look closely, you just might discover that in Seattle there are amazing things happening all around you.
From a jet engine to an espresso machine to grunge rock, Seattle's world-changing events have all had a distinct sound. But the symphony doesn't end there. Your visit to Seattle may bring you the sound of an orca blowing as it surfaces, the roar of the crowd at Safeco Field or the near silence of the Olympic rainforest.
Seattle’s famous landmarks include The Space Needle. A 41-second elevator ride takes you up 520 feet to the observation deck of the Space Needle, built for the 1962 World's Fair. Enjoy a meal at SkyCity, the restaurant at the top that revolves 360° while you dine.
And not to miss is Seattle's Pike Place Market, the granddaddy of farmers' markets, and home to the very first Starbucks Coffee Shop. Today, it's a major tourist attraction with 200 businesses operating year-round, 190 craftspeople and 120 farmer booths - plus street performers and musicians. Flowers by the bucketful, flying fish, fresh pastries and fruit, handmade cheeses, local honey, wine, an assortment of restaurants, import goods, antiques, collectibles and lots of surprises are around every corner.
If you have the opportunity - travel by ferry. Traveling by ferry is a state of mind as much as a means of transportation to some of the Puget Sound's most historic and scenic sites. Views of the Olympic and Cascade mountains, the Seattle cityscape and the green shorelines will draw you out onto the deck to feel the salt breeze on your face. The state ferry system takes passengers and their vehicles from Seattle and nearby departure points to Vashon Island, the Kitsap Peninsula, the San Juan Islands and Canada.
Other fascinating sites include the famed Seattle Aquarium, Seattle’s Waterfront and Woodland Park Zoo, as well as an ample share of some of the best coffee houses in the great Northwest.
Finally, an infant massage certification program for professionals, caregivers and those wanting to begin a new career in the wonderful world of infant massage. The Liddle Kidz Foundation Certification course is an intense, fun and effective way to master the core skills of infant massage.
Founded by master teacher and philanthropist Tina Allen, the Liddle Kidz Foundation offers a new, comprehensive, research based training course and teaches students what they really need to know to become a professional infant massage teacher.
Any experienced infant massage teacher will tell you that there is a world of difference between learning how to massage a baby from a book or DVD, and knowing how to provide the best care to meet a families needs, however, there are few opportunities to learn the skills they really need from a working healthcare professional who has provided infant massage education throughout the world.
As a CIMT, you have the special opportunity to impact an infant and their family for a lifetime.
