		"Holding a sick child’s hand, when they are considered untouchable, communicates that they matter." - Tina Allen, Liddle Kidz™ Foundation Over the course of the past 10 years, I've learned a lot. And I've evolved with the world around me. At the same time, the Liddle Kidz Foundation has evolved from a hobby into a real working passion. Today, the Liddle Kidz Foundation helps share my mission for reaching others through nurturing touch. It’s a New Year and time to find your passion, too! “My dream of bringing nurturing touch to children everywhere is coming true!” says Tina. “Last year, we launched the Liddle Kidz™ Foundation – North American Touch Tour, and due to its enormous success, in 2009 we’re doing it again!” What a year we had! Not only did we get to visit some of the most beautiful places in the world, we met the most amazing people. Finally, I got to sample ice cream at the Ben & Jerry’s Factory in Vermont, taste chocolate at Hershey’s Chocolate World, visit Niagara Falls on the Canada side (I hear that’s the good side) and experience Montreal first hand. The North American Tour ended with a blast as we headed back to work in Thailand. In Thailand, I taught at the Bann Fuang Farr Orphanage just outside of Bangkok, Thailand’s only orphanage for children with special healthcare needs. I feel lucky to have had an amazing translator, a professor from the Department of Special Education from Chiangmai Rajabhat University who has invited me to present at the university next year. Of course, I also had an amazing group of specialists eager to learn how to use infant massage with the children in their care. After providing the 3-day CIMT™ course, I stayed on and volunteered providing pediatric massage for the children in the various wards at the orphanage. The children at Bann Fuang Farr have special healthcare needs ranging from severe hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy to blindness. I look forward to bringing my international volunteer group to work with these children next year. Our 2009 tour again takes us across Canada and the United States. During the Liddle Kidz Touch Tour™, we will be offering 3 day Certified Infant Massage Teacher Trainings (CIMT™) as well as limited 2 day Comprehensive Certified Pediatric Massage Trainings (CPMT™). 				Benefits of massage for children with Autism For children with Autism, massage may provide relaxation, stress reduction and calm muscle spasms. Over time, touch therapy also helps the child to become more accustomed to tactile stimulation and aides in body awareness. Often by incorporating massage therapy into daily routines, children with Autism experience decreased issues with sleeping.

				Does Massage Make Babies Smarter? In almost all of my infant massage classes, I discuss with caregivers the many benefits of massaging their children. Of course, I want parents to understand why it is important to consider massaging their children, and at the very least, ensure they provide appropriate interactive and stimulating opportunities. During my classes I share information about the many digestive benefits, and how massage can help many babies sleep deeper and for longer periods of time, but there always seems to be a question of whether massage can make their baby smarter.

				Work at Home Mom WAHM \| Stay at Home Mom SAHM Many women are deciding to leave their fast paced career lives to stay at home with their children. Some consider themselves stay at home moms, while many others are work from home moms. So what’s the difference? All moms that stay at home with their children are working all day long anyway. The good news is that there’s a way to have your cake and eat it too. Moms can enjoy the comfort and convenience of staying at home while feeling the satisfaction and reaping the rewards of a professional career – all the while, meeting the demands of your little one and spending the most developmental years of your baby’s life - with your baby. What a concept!!

Infant Massage Teacher Training | Los Angeles, California I work at the Iowa State University Child Development Lab School in the Infant/ Toddler room. I had been struggling for 2 years to try to get into an infant massage class that would allow me to teach it. I think all of the “closed or cancelled” classes from other organizations happened for a reason. This training was excellent. I’m so pleased I had the opportunity to take it from Tina. Share a memorable moment from an infant massage class:
One memorable moment in class was when one of the Dads’s looking into his 3 week old daughter’s eyes said to her “You are going to love massage and be the smartest girl in class when you go to school! This was after we discussed how massage helps neurological development and may raise IQ especially in babies massaged by their father’s.

What have you learned from a family (or baby) in your classes? ? When I first started teaching infant massage I thought Mom’s would be the primary students/caregivers but after doing several classes I realized that the Dad’s are eager and willing to take an active role in their babies’ development.
