Home to Summerfest, the world's largest music festival, and a host of ethnic and cultural events, Milwaukee is a true American city. Old and new worlds blend across the urban landscape from busy downtown corridors to ethnic neighborhoods filled with small shops and eateries. And while Milwaukee still maintains a strong German heritage, it has also embraced the other diverse communities that have come to call it home.
Old World Third Street offers a unique blend of old and new situated close by the Milwaukee River. Originally a German neighborhood, the area is now an eclectic blend of boutiques, specialty shops and restaurants. Its German roots continue to thrive however, and if you're looking for an authentic taste of the Old World, try visiting Mader's German Restaurant — a popular place amongst locals — where you can get your fill of sauerbraten and schnitzel while sitting amidst a sizeable collection of medieval armor, weaponry and stained glass.
Check out one of Milwaukee's best (un)kept secret - the Safe House, a spy-themed restaurant and bar. Named after the covert meeting places used by real-life undercover agents, this establishment takes its operation seriously.
This spy-themed restaurant involves passwords, hidden rooms and disappearing ink—and the theme continues on into its bathroom. To enter, users must navigate through a series of complicated mazes and avoid a trick door.
North of Milwaukee’s downtown is Brady Street. This area is frequented by college students, hip types and those in search of authentic Italian food. Or for a little more fun, go for a spin and enjoy dinner at Polaris atop the Hyatt, Pedal a boat on the lagoon at the lakefront or even try skipping down Knapp St. singing " One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight! Schlemiel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated”
Come to Milwaukee and experience the fun with us!
Finally, an accredited infant massage certification program for professionals, caregivers and those wanting to begin a new career in the wonderful world of infant massage. The Liddle Kidz Foundation Certification course is an intense, fun and effective way to master the core skills of infant massage.
Founded by master teacher and philanthropist Tina Allen, the Liddle Kidz Foundation offers a new, comprehensive, research based training course and teaches students what they really need to know to become a professional infant massage teacher.
Any experienced infant massage teacher will tell you that there is a world of difference between learning how to massage a baby from a book or DVD, and knowing how to provide the best care to meet a families needs, however, there are few opportunities to learn the skills they really need from a working healthcare professional who has provided infant massage education throughout the world.
As a CIMT, you have the special opportunity to impact an infant and their family for a lifetime.
