What is the International Massage Therapist of the Year?

Tina Allen, Founder and Director of the Liddle Kidz Foundation honored by One Concept and the American Massage Conference as International Massage Therapist of the Year.

The selection process for the award consists of three components:

• contributions to improving the skills of massage professions internationally
   
• improving healthcare industry relations and in turn creating new opportunities for massage therapists internationally
   
• and directly improving the quality of life of people through the gift of massage therapy to those in need internationally

The organizing committee and advisory panel for the American Massage Conference chose Tina Allen as the inaugural International Massage Therapist honoree due to her global work in the field of massage therapy.  Tina Allen has been leading a global revolution to bring the benefits of nurturing touch and pediatric massage therapy to children internationally.  Part of this mission includes training professionals to become Certified Infant Massage Teachers (CIMTs), Certified Pediatric Massage Therapists (CPMTs) and leading volunteer healthcare professionals on global outreach missions to orphaned and abandoned children around the globe.

As a recognized international lecturer, author and authority on infant and pediatric massage, Tina Allen teaches families and professionals throughout the world in the many benefits of infant, children and pediatric massage.

Tina Allen and Liddle Kidz Foundation’s work has spread across the United States and Canada, and abroad to the UK, England, Sweden, France, Germany, Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam.  Ms. Allen will soon launch an Australian tour.

Tina Allen with the Liddle Kidz Foundation has been leading a global revolution to bring the benefits of nurturing touch and pediatric massage therapy to children internationally.  Part of this mission includes training professionals to become Certified Infant Massage Teachers, Certified Pediatric Massage Therapists and leading volunteer healthcare professionals on global outreach missions to orphaned and abandoned children around the globe.  The work of the Liddle Kidz Foundation includes quality educational workshops and training, program development for healthcare based pediatric massage programs and specialized programs working with compromised and vulnerable children living in a variety of healthcare and orphanage settings.

Ms. Allen graciously accepted the honor of “International Massage Therapist” during the One Concept Gala on Saturday, May 21, 2011.  In her acceptance speech Tina Allen said:

“To receive acknowledgement for something you love to do, makes accepting this award even more of an honor. It is with great pride that I accept this honor on behalf of the Liddle Kidz Foundation, our international massage volunteers and children everywhere.”

The ONE Concept awards honor professionals in the field of massage and bodywork who have made significant contributions to the profession of massage therapy.
