Touch Therapy for Liddle Kidz™ | Massage for Healthy Children | Training

About the Trainer | Tuition & Registration | Training Includes | Who Should Attend | CEH | CEU

Massage for Healthy ChildrenThe comprehensive Touch Therapy for Liddle Kidz™ (Massage for Healthy Children) Course for massage therapists and healthcare professionals provides educational and professional training to those who wish to enhance their skills. Through this training, participants learn to provide massage therapy, nurturing touch techniques, and touch therapy for children.

Children require tactile stimulation through a variety of sources in order to fully develop their body, mind and spirit. Those children who receive massage therapy may experience many benefits including decreased anxiety, improved muscle tone, enhanced pulmonary and immune function, enhanced body image, increased bonding and attachment, healthy sense of boundaries, stress reduction and an overall sense of well being.

Throughout this children’s massage course we will help you find ways of increasing tactile stimulation and exploration experiences for children. In addition to physical experiential activities, calming and relaxing touch is also introduced through hands on massage therapy and massage stories.

Touch Therapy for Liddle Kidz uses adaptations of massage therapy as appropriate for children. Massage is adapted for each individual child client on a specific case by case basis. With each child, it is important to build a rapport and trust in your professional relationship. Learn to ask permission effectively and understand both verbal and non verbal cues.

Each child needs to know they can trust you, and that you will listen to their requests. Learn how to explain massage to children in age appropriate language. By learning to appropriately ask permission prior to massage, you’ll encourage children to develop healthy boundaries and become more secure as they grow older. It is very empowering for a child to have the ability to direct their therapeutic session, and at times even refuse it. Once they trust you, they can relax and just feel the many benefits of the massage.

This children’s massage course incorporates movement games, stories and stimulating activities which can help introduce massage and nurturing touch to children. During the course we will show you ways of incorporating families into sessions, so they may have the opportunity to use nurturing touch with their children in their home environment.

We understand that children have different physical, emotional and developmental needs than adults, which is why we have developed this children’s massage course with early childhood development considerations. During this course you will learn to use massage and touch therapy to interact with children using age appropriate activities that stimulate a child’s development.  Developed with young children’s language level in mind, storytelling and songs are used to connect with and engage children.

During this course, we will use appropriate touch therapy activities for healthy, well children. Hands-on exercises will include adapting storytelling for massage time and utilizing common childhood toys to increase tactile stimulation. A relaxation series of massage strokes will be taught and hands-on practice will demonstrate how this sequence may be especially beneficial to children.
