hi tina

yes, things are different than i expected. i knew i wouldn't be sleeping much but i didn't know all of the new things i would have to do either. or that i wouldn't be able to be with my friends so much. all in all thou i have to say this has been the best time ever. i love katie and she is the best ever. so really i wouldn't change anything.

Default Hi KatiesMum

Being away from your friends can be lonely at times. Do your friends ever come over and hang out with you and your baby? Do your friends have babies? Maybe if you have friends with babies, they might be lonely at home by themself also. You might try asking them to go have lunch with you all of you and the babies? Or maybe a visit to the park would be fun.

I am a stay at home and as much as I love being with my Ellie. It can get lonely too. Sometimes I take her out and we go to those mommy and me movies or even just with a friend to Starbucks. I was thinking of joing a stroller walking group. My friends do come over some, but it's not the same as before. But I wouldn't change anything!

It is a great idea to join a group of other parents with kids the same age as yours or close in age. The fun thing about it is you can learn from other experienced parents as well as share what's happening with your child. Recently in one parent group we had a fiesta party which was a really fun way to mingle and get to know the other parents and kids. Sometimes you don't like everyone, but you can make some good connections and find some playmates for your kids too.

Default Groups for preemie parents

I just helped my friend find this great support group for parents of preemies. She was having some trouble adjusting at home and really blamed herself a lot. Now she has a group of other people who are going through the same things that she can talk too. It's turned out to be a really great thing to help get her out of the house and so she doesn't feel like she's the only one.
