Default So what do you think Kids should eat?

Every time I am at the supermarket I notice that people are buying junk food for their kids. I can't quite understand if it is because people are too busy to make healthy food for their family, or if it is because kids just beg for it - or what?

What do you think?

Does anyone have any easy healthy solutions for kid’s snacks, lunches, etc?

Default Graham crackers with Peanut Butter

When I was a kid my mom always made me graham crackers and peanut butter little sandwiches. I used to love them because they were easyh to eat and sometimes she would add raisins inside too.

Those seem like something easy to make and kids love them.

Default fresh raw veggies are good for kids

i like to feed my kids carrot and celery sticks with a good cheesy dip or sometimes a ranch style dressing. they like it because they can easily pick them up and pop them in their mouth. they are also good to take on little trips in the car. just fill up a baggie and go.

Default healthy cookies for kids

I've made this recipe before which is for healty kids cookies. Kids don't even know that they are good for them, they love them. The cookies taste really good and you wouldn't know that I use fruit juice instead of sugar.

If you can afford it and also have some time on you're hands then buy the healthiest food available. It isn't the excuse of "kids like to eat junk". Kids often have the same eating habits as their parents. Most of the choices I will provide require both the parents and the children learn to cook at home. There are 3 types of foods: protein, carbohydrates and fat. The goal is to try to get a little bit of everything throughout the day (it can be a big challenge for most people).

For protein sources:

1. steak
2. salmon
3. chicken breasts
4. eggs
5. turkey
6. hamburger patties

For carbohydrates:

1. potatoes
2. rice
3. fruit
4. bread
5. yogurt
6. oats

For fats (by fats I mean essential fats)

1. safflower oil
2. sunflower oil
3. flaxseed oil
3. olive oil
4. canola oil
5. almonds
6. peanut butter
