Default Children with Cerebral Palsy

Yesterday, I was giving a presentation and was asked if Massage Therapy is effective for children with Cerebral Palsy. As I am often asked this question, I thought I would share a little research based evidence of he effectiveness of massage for children affected by Cerebral Palsy (CP).

Research has found that massage therapy helped children with Cerebral Palsy reduce spasticity, gain more muscle flexibility, and motor function. Additionally it allowed these children to have more positive social interaction.

Suzi,

I haven't seen a lot of photos showing exact massage for children with cerebral palsy but I know there are ways to massage to help children with CP. Have you tried any massage yet? I am sure you could take a class from an infant massage teacher who would be able to give you some ideas on what would be best.
