prematurity increasing dopamine receptors?

Recently, I've read news articles online that explained how prematurity leads to hyperactivity later in life. Somehow, prematurity increases dopamine receptors in the brain and I don't know how. The how part is what I'm trying to figure out. Does anyone have any theories on how this happens?

From what I have read, I understand that there has been a significant body of research indicating that hyperactivity disorders such as ADHD are linked to low cerebral blood flow in infants. Particularly infants who are born preterm are vulnerable due to cerebrovascular homeostasis.

Cerebrovascular: Pertaining to the blood vessels and, especially, the arteries that supply the brain. As in cerebrovascular accident or cerebrovascular disease.

Homeostasis is the property of either an open system or a closed system, especially a living organism, to regulate its internal environment so as to maintain a stable, constant condition.

In one such study, high dopamine receptor availability was predicted by low neonatal Cerebral Blood Flow. So in short, one theory is that the lack of cerebral blood flow contributes to the increase in dopamine receptors.
