If you can afford it and also have some time on you're hands then buy the healthiest food available. It isn't the excuse of "kids like to eat junk". Kids often have the same eating habits as their parents. Most of the choices I will provide require both the parents and the children learn to cook at home. There are 3 types of foods: protein, carbohydrates and fat. The goal is to try to get a little bit of everything throughout the day (it can be a big challenge for most people).

For protein sources:

1. steak
2. salmon
3. chicken breasts
4. eggs
5. turkey
6. hamburger patties

For carbohydrates:

1. potatoes
2. rice
3. fruit
4. bread
5. yogurt
6. oats

For fats (by fats I mean essential fats)

1. safflower oil
2. sunflower oil
3. flaxseed oil
3. olive oil
4. canola oil
5. almonds
6. peanut butter
