Who can attend the Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist Training?
Health care professionals, professional massage therapists and body workers, parents and caregivers of children with specific medical conditions which may benefit from the use of massage therapy.
This course as a stand alone course does not provide certification to provide hands-on therapy for pediatric clients. This is a continuing education course designed to expand your practice.
In order to provide hands-on therapy for pediatric clients you must possess a hands-on certification or license prior to providing touch therapy for pediatric clients. For example certification/license in massage therapy, physical therapy, nursing or as a physician.

How long is the CPMT Training?
The training course is provided over two comprehensive in class training days. The training includes hands-on practice and an end of course exam.

What is a CPMT able to do?
- Provide hands-on massage therapy for pediatric clients with appropriate consent (medical, parental and child’s)
The certification does not allow you to:
- Train or certify others to provide pediatric massage
- Offer any type of continuing education units and/or continuation hours

I am enrolled in an upcoming CPMT course, what should I plan to bring to class?
Please bring at least two sets of massage linens to class as you will participate in hands-on practical demonstrations. In many cases massage tables will be provided, if they are required you will be notified prior to the course.
You may wish to bring notepaper, pen and/or pencil to class to take notes. You will be provided educational materials in class, but it is highly likely you will wish to take notes.
We sit on the floor for many portions of the course, so you may wish to bring a pillow or something else to sit on.
Please feel free to dress comfortably and in layers. The temperature of the training space may fluctuate. We do take frequent breaks, but also encourage the student to remember their needs. So, please feel free to bring water and snacks as needed to keep you energized throughout the day. We will offer a lunch break for at least one hour each day, and you are welcome to bring your own lunch, or find a local place in the area.
